I was born and raised on Long Island in NY. I moved to California in 2000. I have a degree in Computer Science, and that is what I do for a living. When I'm not working, I am likely enjoying the open air on one of my motorcycles, or taking my dog for a walk. I also like to read now and then, and I'm a big Stephen King fan. I did take flying lessons a few years back, but never did get my private pilot's license. It is something that I may get back into soon. When I was younger, my family did have a boat. Another thing in the back of my mind is maybe getting a sailboat. My bike rides have taken me through 42 of the lower 48 states so far. I tend to enjoy an aimless ride to nowhere over attending the large rallies like Daytona or Sturgis (which I have attended in the past). I have a daughter who doesn't live with me. She is out of state with her mom.

It was in a hospital in San Francisco on Memorial day, May 31, 1982. I was born. For five years, I cant really remember because my memories are hazy, and I don't remember much from that time. I remember going to China and Hong Kong when I was really small. Visiting with my grandma's family, on a big house with chickens and pigs and animals, in the country. I remember walking in the dirty smelly dark alleys of Hong Kong.
Once, my grandfather left me and my little sister in a truck (we couldn't have been more than 4 years old at the time). The truck caught on fire while we were still strapped into our seat-belts. Luckily for us, my uncle noticed this, scrambled to the truck, signaled my sister to unlock the door from the inside, undid our belts, and pulled us from the burning truck.
I spent my childhood growing up on the Peninsula, in Foster City. My family lived on Barkentine street until I was about five years old, then we moved to Surfbird Isle when I started going to kindergarten. I attended Audoban elementary school, k-8. I was picked on a lot. I had no friends, except for a half black half white kid named Jasper. We used to race across the schoolyard. I was faster than him for a few grades, and I remember he'd used to say, 'you're fast' and we'd drink milk together. After school, me and my little sister would go play at the afterschool program thingy. I remember that was where I had a crush on this girl Aimee, so I drew a big heart with red crayon, and I gave it to her, and she said, 'eeeeewwwwwww'. I was so embarrassed. I also used to walk home with another asian kid who lived on my street. He was half my size, but one time I swung my backpack, that had my lunchbox in it. It sent him flying to the ground, and it made him cry, and I felt bad. I only did it cause he swung his backpack at me and it hurt really bad. After that, he came to my house and my grandma gave him a donut...

I got on this site as a recommendation of a friend saying its actually a pretty good way to meet people. Honestly i'm a total skeptic when it comes to this kinda stuff. However I have agreed to be a little more open minded and give this a chance.

I'm not a skeptic at heart to be honest. I just tend to be a little defensive due to "life lessons". It's not easy for me to quickly be able to completely trust a person and open myself up. I guess it's the whole vulnerability aspect.

Basically I'm a small-island guy from Guam getting an education out here in Da Bay. It's become my new home and I'm open to the idea of sharing a lot of things with a significant other. I've been living here in the bay area for the past 3 years and have been having fun exploring the area. I was originally born and raised in Hawaii and moved to see how the world works outside of an island. Basically I had a small case of island fever.

My favorite thing to do is laugh! I think that it's the best medicine. Humor keeps you young and healthy. Although it has been a few years since I went to college full time, I still consider myself a student, and I probably will always consider myself such even after I complete my degree, as I believe the word means more than just a taker of classes. It is my long-held desire to go on to complete graduate school and teach. While my field was once Philosophy, it is likely that I will be switching to Political Science when I go back to school sometime in the next year or so. I love learning; I find that my strongest friendships are with those who can teach me something new about the world or about myself.

Often people's initial impression of me is that I'm calm, cool and collected. I think I get that from my dad aka 'John Wayne'. No he doesn't go around punching people but he was an air force pilot and is pretty stoic. I used to call him Major Dick when I was pissed at him as a kid. Yes his first name is Richard so it fits. I was born in Poland and moved to California when I was three. I've always lived in the Bay Area, but really love SoCal and the East Coast (although, despite my earlier aspirations, I don't think I could live there). I like sports - the Sharks are my current obsession (and I turn into the biggest sports nerd during the Olympics!), music, photography, reading, and traveling. I love doing stuff outdoors, especially when it's sunny - but I am just as happy relaxing at home, watching a good movie or playing guitar. :-)

I like anime, manga, dramas, (well almost every drama that is like girly romantic or funny), reading, video games, and a bit of the outdoors. I am now an art student at The Art Institute of Califoria - San Francisco (official title). Previously, I went to College of Marin, across the Golden Gate Bridge from SF.

I am slightly paranoid and obsessed with the color green.

I should also mention that my answers to these questions are quite a bit old, and I have changed some. For instance, I an no longer an introvert because of in large part of my interacting with other students at my skool.

I love being with other people but sometimes I prefer to be alone. I like things that are challenging to master, as the rewards are always greater in the end.

I enjoy many different sports, including but not limited to: skiing, snowboarding, golf, skateboarding, paintball, football, browsing reddit... if it's fun I'll probably do it.

I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm a pretty smart person and occasionally funny, though there is conflicting information. (Ask about picture)

I don't know what else to say, someone else could probably do a better job summarizing me.

I'm a bad man in a great suit, imagine Edith Head dressing Vin Diesel for a Luc Besson film. I'm an archetypal gemini, with an aries moon and libra ascendent for the astrologers out there (ask me about my stellium in gemini and the lovely venus, neptune, jupiter t-square). I like French wine, British music and Italian clothes. I'm picky about my shoes and bourbon, but couldn't care less about who wins the superbowl or goes to the final four (and if they all come back next year, how final is it?). That being said, I'll get up at 3:30 a.m. to watch the Belgium Grand Prix or the start of the vingt-quatre heures du Mans, and I'll cheer like a mad man when Newcastle United scores on Sunderland. I'm a label whore and food snob, but I can also be found wearing a ripped t-shirt eating fast food. For more you'll have to ask me.

I love the smell of bookstores. Not sure why it's been so long since I've been in one. Perhaps its the same reason I'm on a dating site instead of a date right now. I'm just a guy with a wonderful family that figured out a way to get into trouble just enough to enjoy life, and not enough to screw it up. I'm addicted to a few things, among them TiVo and finding parking spots within 5 minutes. What's a little walking gonna hurt?

Where does one start...hmm well I am a Giant's fan. I like beer and jager. I do hair and love it. I like to go out with friends, watch movies, drink, I love paintballing, and going camping. I am Japanese, Irish, German, English, Scottish. I have a brother who is recently married and I love my sis-in-law. I have about 30 cousins who I see and hangout with a lot, they are my friends as well as family. I've had my fair share of jerks so I'm not interested in that.

Who am I? You sure you want to know? The story of my life is not for the faint of heart. If somebody said it was a happy little tale... if somebody told you I was just your average ordinary guy, not a care in the world... somebody was right.

So I'm kind of old-fashioned when it comes to dating. I will open that door for you, call you when I say I will, and doing the little thing to make you feel special. Isn't that what its all about anyways? Giving and receiving? I have strong family values and greatly appreciate the time spent with friends and loved ones.

Maybe you noticed maybe you didn't â?? I'm a fan of movies, and not just Spider-Man either. I know it's cliche in a way but I don't want to live to work, not what life is about. I want to travel and see the world. I want to one day own a business and a house. I want a family. I also want to go back to school and take some classes like cooking, photography, and other such subjects to learn about the world and beyond.

I moved here from sunny Santa Barbara not long ago because I have many relatives and friends here in the Bay Area. Here are some things I've done:

* I've written and published a book on practical computer programming
* I am sponsoring hungry kids through World Vision
* I am supporting my younger brother
* I taught myself a piano song, Comptine d'un autre ete, although I had never learned how to play the piano before

My goal is to feed as many hungry kids as possible in my life. It just breaks my heart whenever I hear them starve.

I am a very friendly person who is down-to-earth and believes that a smile goes a long way. I'm 30 years old, born and raised in South City. I enjoy sports (playing basketball and watching football), cooking and video games. I'm very laid back and usually choose to go with the flow. I enjoy myself equally being at home in front of the TV or being out with my friends. Oh look, you're still here. Well I'm not surprised--I like me too.

Let's start with why I'm here. I have a profile because all the people I like hanging out with are in San Francisco, but I don't live in SF.

I created this profile so I could meet people in my immediate area (formerly Santa Clara, now San Mateo) to hang out with when I'm not in the city. So far I've met a few interesting people, but more would be better.

OK, so what do I define as interesting? For starters, people who are good at things and not afraid to tell me about it, make things happen instead of waiting for things to happen to them, like learning about the world they're in and the people who exist in it. Are you passionate about something? Can you communicate it? Great, let's get coffee!

So what about me? Well I quit university to take a job in the tech industry and I've been building that career ever since. I don't have a typical engineering position though. I work in sales*, helping to build solutions for potential customers. This marries my passion for creative problem-solving with my fascination of people. I love figuring out what makes people tick.

I like doing anything competitive, running, and skiing (I finally bought a new pair of skis after 12 years, my how the sport has changed!). Last year I coached and played softball (far too zealously for a work league I'm told).

I have 5 piercings. One of them is in my tongue--can you figure out where the other 4 are?

Once everything else falls into place (house, solid retirement investments, etc), I would love to travel all over the world--Europe, the Mediterranean, Japan, and China.

I enjoy lots of outdoor activities such as hikes, sailing and walking trails. I like taking spontaneous trips to the coast, the wine country, the mountains or just staying in for a relaxing evening to watch a good movie, a nice dinner and some wine.

I'm in good physical shape - having a regular workout at the local gym. I'm a non-smoker and I've always been drug-free. I used to run marathon running races and I'm a long-time tennis player and snow skiier in the winter.

I am an honest, sincere guy who will make whoever I'm with feel very appreciated. I'm ready for a quality, long-term relationship with someone who will respect me, without all the phony, shallow stuff.

I work a 9-5 job in SF and actually enjoy it. I love adventures... whether it is a random trip to test drive cars for fun or a road trip to LA for the weekend. I love traveling and would go almost anywhere. My last big trip was to Sweden, and I'm planning on going to Italy next.

In contrast, I also enjoy having "Sweatpant Sundays" and just staying at home to watch a movie or TV marathon.

I come from a big crazy Italian family who I love. Cute puppies are my weakness. I name my cars. I've been sky diving, but I will never bungee jump. I love board games and my Wii... just some random facts :)
